Kattegat Limited (“Kattegat”) is a Bermudian company wholly owned by the Kattegat Trust, which holds and invests assets for the long term benefit of the Kattegat Trust, a charitable Bermuda Trust. The trust derives from a series of trusts established in 1991, which were funded substantively by Jens Torben Karlshoej (1942-1992) during his lifetime. Mr. Karlshoej founded Teekay Corporation and the assets of the Kattegat Trust derive from his investments.
Teekay Corporation (NYSE:TK), is a NYSE listed global leader in oil and gas shipping, and in floating production, storage and offtake (FPSO) solutions, in which Kattegat retains a 35% ownership stake.
In addition to its holdings in these two public companies, Kattegat has a diverse global portfolio of investments in a variety of other asset classes, including farmland, public equities in the developed and emerging markets, fund limited partnership interests and direct investments in private equity and debt.
Kattegat is an active investor, seeking to make majority (control) investments, and to actively participate in the strategy and growth of its portfolio companies.
